10 Mile & 10k Challenge
Join us on April 21, 2012 for the Inaugural Blackwater Challenge in the beautiful Blackwater River State Park. Start the day by challenging yourself with either a 10K or 10 mile point to point trail run in scenic Blackwater River State Park. Finish it off with an after party and burgers on the sugar white sand beaches along the gorgeous Blackwater River. You do not want to miss this one!

Race Day Schedule
Saturday, April 21
5:30-6:30 am Race Day Registration and Packet Pickup near finish line and Parking Area at Blackwater River State Park (see maps).
*$4 park entrance fee is included in your registration fee.
6:45 am SHARP 10k Buses leaves to take participants to start line (One trip so DON’T BE LATE!)
*If you miss the buses you are responsible for transportation to 10k start
7:00 am 10k Start at corner of Pleasant Home Road and Steephead Road (see maps)
*There is NO parking at the start line, all parking is near finish line in the Parking Area
7:15 am SHARP 10 Mile Buses leaves to take participants to start line (One trip so DON’T BE LATE!)
*If you miss the buses you are responsible for transportation to the 10 Mile start
7:30 am 10 Mile Start on Cemetery Road, just east of Sandy Forest Rd. (see maps)
*There is NO parking at the start line, all parking is near the finish line in the Parking Area
9:30 am (approximately) Awards Ceremony begins at Post Race Party. Stick around for burgers at the Pavillion on the water in Blackwater River State Park!

10k Course Description
- Post Race Party Pavillion and Parking Area are located off Deaton Bridge Road at Blackwater River State park. $4 park fee is included in your race registration fee.
- Park in the parking lot and be ready for the bus to take you to the start line at 6:45 am SHARP, don’t be late.
- This is a point to point 10k trail run. You will finish where you parked and boarded the bus. There is no parking at the start line, you must park at the finish and take the bus to the start. If you miss the bus you are responsible for your own transportation to the start line.
- Bus will take you to the start at the corner of Pleasant Home Road and Steephead Road
- Trail travels part of Jackson Trail and meets Juniper Creek Trail
- You will finish at the Parking Area in Blackwater River State Park
- Post Race Party and Awards are located at the picnic area and pavillions near the Parking, right on the water! Restrooms are in the pavillion area.

- Park in the parking lot and be ready for the bus to take you to the start line at 7:15 am sharp, don’t be late.
- This is a point to point 10 Mile trail run. You will finish where you parked and boarded the bus. There is no parking at the start line, you must park at the finish and take the bus to the start. If you miss the bus you are responsible for your own transportation to the start line.
- Bus will take you to the start on Cemetery Road, just east of Sandy Forest Road
- You will run south on a fire road (approx 1 mile) and meet up with Jackson Trail
- Jackson Trail meets Juniper Creek Trail
- After you run all of Juniper Creek Trail you will finish on part of Blackwater River Trail
- You will finish in the Parking Area
- Post Race Party and Awards are located at the picnic area and pavillions near the the Parking, right on the water!
Awards Ceremony and Post Race Party
Join us on the water at the Pavillion near the Parking Area for burgers and music. Bring the family, you don’t want to miss this!
Awards will start shortly after the 10 Mile finish.
